File Menu:
Select By AC (CTL+A): Allows you to find where a given area code is and some major cities located in that area code.
Select By City (CTL+C): Allows you to select a state or province, and then a major city to find it's area code.
Setup...: Brings up the Setup screen. Here you can configure Phone Code to you home city and set other data.
Save Setup: Saves the current set up to the startup initilization file.
Print Data: Allows you to print a hard copy of the displayed data.
Exit: Exits the program.
Options Menu:
Show Cities: Shows when checked, the list of major cities for the selected area code.
Show Time: Toggles the display of the Region Time, Local Time and Time Diff. displays
Help Menu:
View Help (F1): Brings up this help screen. NOTE: Pressing F1 on any other form will bring up help about the control with the focus when F1 is pressed.
About...: Brings up the opening screen.
Select By AC Button:
Allows you to find where a given area code is and some major cities located in that area code.
Select By City Button:
Allows you to select a state or province, and then a major city to find it's area code.
Hide/Show Cities Button:
Hides or shows the major cities for the selected area code.
Display:
AREA CODE: Shows selected area code.
STATE: Shows selected state.
TIME DIFF.: Shows difference in hours and minutes between the selected area code and your time.
REGION OF STATE: Tells general area of the state or province where the area code is located
REGION TIME: Tells time of selected area code.
LOCAL TIME: Tells your time.
Major City List:
Shows the major (up to 5) cities for the selected area code. An asterisk (*) means subtract one hour from the regional time, a pound sign (#) means add one hour. This is because some area codes actually lie in two or more time zones.
Status Bar:
Shows your home city, state, area code and time zone.
<Topic02>Enter Area Code:
Enter a valid area code that you wish information on, then press [ENTER] or the OK button. The area code entered must be a valid area code in the United States or Canada.
<Topic03>OK Button:
Looks for information on area code entered, then displays it on main form if found.
<Topic04>Abort Button:
Cancels operation and returns to previous form.
<Topic05>Select State:
Provides a list of valid state and provinces to choose from. You must select the state before you can select the city.
<Topic06>Select City:
Lists valid cities for state selected. If the city you are looking for is not listed, try selecting a city close as possible.
<Topic07>OK Button:
Looks for information on city selected, then displays it on either the main or setup form.
<Topic08>Setup...:
Displays the current data for your home area code, and allows you to change and save the start up confiuration.
Show Cities: Sets the program to start up with the Major Cities box showing.
Show Time: Sets the program to start up showing the time information when an area code is displayed.
Select New: Allows you select a new home city.
Save Setup: Saves the current set up to the startup initilization file.
Override City: Allows you to change the home city if yours is not listed.
Override Time: Allows you to change the default time zone if it is not correct for your city.
Help: Displays this screen.
Abort: Cancels all changes made and returns you to the main menu.
<Topic09>Select New:
Lets you enter a new city as the Home City. You must select from the list. If your city is not shown, select one close, then use the Override City button to change it.
<Topic10>Save Setup:
Saves the current set up to the startup initilization file.
<Topic11>Override City:
Allows you to change the home city if yours is not listed. Select a city close to yours in the same area code from the Select New form, then enter the correct city here.
<Topic12>Override Time Zone:
Allows you to change the default time zone if it is not correct for your city. All time zones for the United States and Canada have been included.
<Topic13>OK Button:
Accepts and changes data to selected value if it is valid.
<Topic14>Abort Button:
Cancels all changes made and returns you to the main menu.
<Topic15>Show Cities:
Sets the program to start up with the Major Cities box showing.
<Topic16>Show Time:
Sets the program to start up showing the time information when an area code is displayed
